Inspector notes: Observed buildup of residue that wiped off when disturbed in the interior of ice machine. CA: Ice machine must be cleaned at regular intervals to prevent build-up of residues (soil, mold, mildew, etc.) on the interior of the machine. CFSM informed Charlton EH that the ice machine is cleaned "once a year or so" by their maintenance department. Charlton EH instructed CFSM it needs to be cleaned monthly or at a frequency to prevent build-up.

Inspector notes: Observed rusted can opener. COS: Charlton EH instructed CFSM to remove the can opener from service and to obtain a new one. COS - CFSM removed the can opener from service. Charlton EH instructed CFSM that the base of the can opener will also need to be replaced as it is rusted. Equipment shall be made of durable, smooth, non-porous materials to prevent contamination. Observed a small pot with peeling surface. COS: CFSM discarded the pot. Observed damaged seals with mold/mildew build-up on the reach-in-cooler. CA: Charlton EH instructed CFSM to have the seals replaced/cleaned and suggested that the seals from the hot holding unit that is being used for storage be stripped off and applied to the cold holding unit since they are not damaged.
